A black-and-white silent film of a bird colony on Shoe Island: a rocky shoreline with short vegetation, hundreds of gulls or terns in flight, and men picking up and banding juvenile terns. Early field ornithology on one of the archipelago’s smallest islands, recorded as motion rather than as a specimen list.
