Beaver Island runs on a season. Between June and Labour Day almost everything in St. James is open and the boat comes four times a day. After the middle of December there is no boat at all, and in 2026 there was none before April either.
This page holds three different kinds of answer, and it keeps them apart on purpose. The museums and the ferry publish a whole season in advance, so those are firm. The shops and kitchens do not publish anything: what is below for them is a business listing, read on one day, and it describes that week and no other.

Published
The operator printed a schedule for the season. The Historical Society's museum hours and the Boat Company's sailing calendar are here. These can answer a question about February.
Listing
A Google Maps business listing, read on 2026-08-23. It gives the current week and nothing else. It is evidence of what the listing said, not of what the door did.
Not held
The place exists and nothing here states its hours. Those are named rather than dropped — an absence is a finding.
Season
June to about the middle of October. The museums are open, the boat runs every day, and the kitchens in town keep the hours shown below.
Roughly November to April. Three things are firm, because their operators publish them:
No ferry at either end of the year. The 2026 sheet carries no sailing at all for the 97 days before 2026-04-08, and none for the 13 days after 2026-12-18. Those two stretches are one winter. Whether the boat returns in early April next year is not something this page can say — the following season's sheet is not published yet. The island is reached by air in that gap.
The museums are shut. The Society publishes hours for June to October only.
Flights carry on. Island Airways answers its own question — does it fly in winter — with "Yes, weather permitting."
For the shops and kitchens the archive holds nothing. Every business row on this page was read on 2026-08-23, in the third week of August, and a listing carries no memory of any other week. Showing those hours under a winter heading would be inventing them.
This fills itself in. The retrieval that produced the rows below is re-runnable and stamps each read with its date; run it in January and the off-season becomes a second observation rather than a guess.

Protar's Homesite — Google lists this as 'Feodar Protar Cabin' and holds no hours for it. The Historical Society publishes its opening separately.
Stoney Acre Grill — Shares 26420 Beaver Harbor Drive with Donegal Danny's Pub. The archive treats the two as one concern, under the name 'Stoney Acre Grill and Donegal Danny's Pub'.

Beaver Island Boat Company (ferry)site — This is the ticket office. The sailings themselves are on the Boat Company's own published calendar, which is set out further down this page — an office's opening hours are not a timetable.

Dalwhinnie Bakery & Deli — The archive holds an article on it. The sweep of 2026-08-23 found no business listing at all, which is not the same as finding it closed. Whether it is trading is not established here.
The museums and cultural centres, and the best days to see them
The Beaver Island Historical Society opens three buildings and publishes one block of hours for all of them. It changes five times between June and October, and the three do not keep the same hours as each other. Read 2026-08-23.
The short answer: between 1 August and 7 September the Print Shop is open every day, 11–5. That is the only stretch of the year when you can walk in on any day without checking first. Protar's Home is the hard one — in that same stretch it opens on Wednesday afternoons only, and it closes for the season on 2 September, five days before the others change over.

The Society publishes one line for June covering all three sites. It does not say whether Protar's Home, which is a cabin several miles out of town, keeps the same hours as the two buildings on the harbour.

The one stretch of the year when the Print Shop is open every day. Protar's Home is open on Wednesday afternoons only, and its last day is 2 September — five days before the other two change over.

CONFLICT, recorded and not resolved: the line names Thursday to Saturday, but the dates it then lists — 2-4 and 9-11 October — are Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in 2026. Either the weekdays or the dates are wrong, and the Society is the only party who can say which. Anyone travelling for these two weekends should telephone first.

The Society publishes no hours before June or after October. The buildings are taken to be shut for the winter; the page does not say so in as many words.
Amik Cultural Preservation Centeropened 2026-05-31
Run by the Amik Circle Society at 37685 King's Highway, Beaver Island. Opened on 31 May 2026 and holds the Terri Bussey Exhibit Room. Opening is staffed rather than fixed: the bulletins say the building is open 'with a member of the Amik Circle Society present for tours and discussions'. The Society also uses the shorter name 'Amik Cultural Center' for the Sunday opening.

The Wednesday opening is reported as a start time with no closing time attached, so none is shown. No source read here places the centre on any other day.
The Chamber of Commerce page is indexed as saying the centre is 'now open to the public on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 1-4 PM'. That matches none of the twelve bulletins, which put it on Wednesday at 4 and Sunday from 1 to 3, and name no Saturday. Recorded as a disagreement; the Society is the only party who can settle it.

Getting here: the boat's own year
From the Beaver Island Boat Company's published 2026 sheet. 208 days carry a sailing, from 2026-04-08 to 2026-12-18. Every other day of the year has none.

The sheet's blue one-trip row gives the Beaver Island departure as '11:20 PM' against an 8:30 AM sailing from Charlevoix. Recorded as printed. It is very likely a typo for 11:20 AM, and correcting an operator's timetable is not this archive's business.
The sheet carries dated exceptions in fine print — June 1 and 4, July 11, 25 and 26, and the October 5-25 vessel change — which are not encoded per day here. Read the sheet for those.

Telephone. This is an archive, not a booking service. Every business row is a listing read on one day, and listings go stale quietly.
One listing on this page is visibly wrong. Powers' hardware is published as opening at 12:30 AM on Thursdays, against 8 AM on every other weekday. It is marked and not drawn. It is left in because correcting somebody's listing from a desk is not this archive's business, and because it is a fair warning about the register as a whole.
The Society's October line contradicts itself. It names Thursday to Saturday and then lists dates that are Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Both are shown above. Telephone before travelling for those two weekends.
Nothing here reaches the knowledge base. Articles carry no hours by rule. If you want the history of one of these buildings, follow its link — the hours are the shallowest thing about it.
