Shapes are simplified to about half a pixel at each sheet's scale and clipped to its frame.

Markers are articles that carry a coordinate: places, structures, organizations, people and events. Survey records are excluded — the knowledge base holds coordinates for 1,489 PLSS quarter-sections, 745 DNR parcels and 151 land-cover polygons, and those are a grid, not places. 101 further located articles fall outside every sheet, because they are elsewhere: Charlevoix, Chicago, Detroit and further still.

Article counts come from the same backlink index that builds each article's "What links here", so a count here and a list there cannot disagree. A panel prints the first eight and links on for the rest.

With JavaScript available the sheets also pan and zoom, the search box filters every sheet at once, and the export row writes GeoJSON, CSV or a standalone SVG of whatever is on screen — generated in the browser from the data already on this page, so an export is always exactly what you were looking at. Each file carries the attribution below inside itself, because ODbL 1.0 requires the credit to travel with the geometry. None of that is required to use the map: with scripting off the sheets, the panels, the switches and every link work as they do above.
