Summary
The July 1996 Beaver Beacon described plans for a Beaver Island Bus, Van, and Transit Company, including a 17-passenger wheelchair-accessible bus, two maxivans, and proposed Dial-A-Ride, shopping, Meals on Wheels, church, and recreational services.
The September update says the two ferry-passenger vans were in brisk service, while the larger bus had arrived but was not yet operating because no available driver had passed the required test.
