Summary

By July 1976 the Mabel and A. J. Roy Heritage Park project had cleared and graded its land, installed a security light, and completed drawings for a replica Northwest Trading Company trading post. The project planned outdoor and indoor displays of farming, lumbering, and other non-nautical history.

Evidence and limits

This is a source-qualified project site with a current township parcel anchor, not proof of a completed 1976 park, trading post, or exhibit installation. The parcel point is not a surveyed exhibit footprint or historical boundary.

  1. Reports that the Heritage Park land had been cleared and graded, a security light installed, and drawings completed for a replica Northwest Trading Company trading post. It lists planned historic objects and a bulletin board but does not provide a parcel survey, completed structures, or formal park register. The holding institution's portal restricts automated access; the archive holds a copy of this issue and can provide it on request.

  3. The Society identifies the present Heritage Park on Donegal Bay Road and describes the park and its large-artifact displays. The current page does not publish a surveyed boundary or coordinates.
  4. The current place listing gives 26415 Donegal Bay Road and coordinates approximately -85.523195, 45.7474019. This is treated as a representative visitor point for the current park and as the best available locator for the historical Heritage Park project site, not as proof of the 1976 parcel boundary or every exhibit footprint.
  5. PIN 013-222-056-00 is an exempt 0.6-acre parcel owned by TOWNSHIP OF ST JAMES, carries current situs 26415 Donegal Bay Rd, and has the representative point used as the current park parcel anchor. It closely agrees with the Google visitor point, but does not prove that the parcel boundary, present park use, and 1976 Heritage Park project site are identical.
