Summary
The 1978 History Map identifies an Antrim Iron Works lumber-and-charcoal site on Beaver Island’s lower west side and says it later became Carpenter’s Mill. Helen Collar’s lumbering notes independently associate the Antrim Iron Company with large-scale cutting for chemical and charcoal wood and shipment to Mancelona, but date that activity from about 1900 rather than the map’s 1920 opening. Later Beaver Beacon notices call Tara’s Meadow the historic Carpenter’s Mill site on West Side Road, about one mile north of Miller’s Marsh.
Together these sources support the industrial succession at a broad locality. They do not establish the map’s exact 1920–1945 operating span, a surveyed boundary, surviving mill structures, or which foundations belong to which phase. This record therefore carries no coordinates and does not convert the map symbol into precise site geometry.

- Which Antrim Iron Company deeds, timber contracts, tax records, or shipping records document the Beaver Island operation?
- When did Carpenter’s Mill begin and end, and did it reuse the same buildings?
