Summary
The August 1960 Beaver Beacon identifies a Beaver Island Yacht Club with headquarters at the King Strang Hotel. It says yachtsmen aboard the Sabre and the Gypsy incorporated a perpetual paying membership. The May 1962 issue reports that the club had affiliated with the Lake Michigan Yachting Association, had 56 charter members, and was planning improvements for docks, slips, the beach, clubhouse communications, and visitor weather information.
