Summary

In September and October 2014, Pam Grassmick organized volunteer work at Little Sand Bay involving removal of small trees and vegetation from a creek bank. A follow-up reported that 50 feet of creek bed was cleared after consultation with MDNR and the Little Traverse Conservancy to improve habitat for the Michigan monkeyflower.

Evidence limits

The forum provides a volunteer call and organizer follow-up, but not independent ecological monitoring, a formal project record, or evidence that the plant later returned.

Sources

  1. Pam Grassmick sought three or four people for two or three hours of small-tree and vegetation removal from a creek bank, describing the purpose as preserving a rare natural species. The notice documents intended volunteer work; it does not establish completion, the species involved, or the project's legal sponsor.

  2. A follow-up said volunteers cleared 50 feet of creek bed after consultation with an MDNR threatened-and-endangered-species specialist and the Little Traverse Conservancy, to reduce overgrowth affecting Michigan monkeyflower habitat. It documents the reported work and consultation, but not independent ecological monitoring or the plant's later return.
