Summary
Greenetown was a Greene-family farming locality in Beaver Island’s interior. The name appears in Helen Collar’s school notes, which identify a Greentown school with the Little Red Schoolhouse and record a 1911–1912 teaching term. Modern family-history coverage places White Dan Greene’s farm there from 1872.
The 1978 History Map labels the locality “Greene Town” and says twelve families moved there from Greenes Bay in 1876. The place-name and Greene-family association are independently supported, but no census, deed series, parish register, or contemporary report found in this review confirms a single twelve-family move in that year. This record therefore models the locality without a boundary or a founding date.
