Summary

Doug Tilly and Vince Pickhardt rebuilt the Cable’s Creek hiking-trail footbridge in spring 1997, replacing it with a more stable arched bridge. The Trails, Parks, and Campgrounds Committee also planned a wooden walkway through the swamp at Johnny Martin’s Trail so the trail system could connect Hannigan’s Road with Lake Geneserath for foot and ski travel.

Evidence limits

The report establishes the bridge work and planned walkway but does not provide construction dates, costs, surveys, or proof that the walkway was completed.

Open questions

  • Was the planned wooden walkway through the swamp at Johnny Martin’s Trail ever built, connecting Hannigan’s Road to Lake Geneserath?
  • Does the arched bridge Tilly and Pickhardt built at Cable’s Creek in 1997 survive today, or has it since been replaced?

If you can answer any of these, or correct anything above, the archive wants to hear it — see Corrections.
