Patrick (Paid Een Og) Boyle is identified as a posthumous 2025 Beaver Island Irish American Hall of Fame inductee for Cultural Heritage.1
The 1978 Historical Map associates him with Paid Een Og’s Road, saying the road was named after “Young Pat” Boyle. This is the earliest source located for that explanation. The much later Hall of Fame caption independently confirms that island memory associates the nickname Paid Een Og with a Patrick Boyle, but it does not prove the road-naming event or identify the exact Irish form behind the map’s phonetic spelling.
