In April 1966, the Beaver Island Christian Church was reported to have purchased the former Amos home in St. James as a permanent sanctuary. The Beaver Beacon also reported Good Friday and Easter Sunrise services, five baptisms performed by Rev. Arthur Johnson, and planned weekly Sunday services.
