Summary
On January 9, 1990, Congressman Bob Davis announced that Charlevoix would receive Coast Guard Cutter Acacia to replace Mesquite, which had grounded near Keweenaw Point in December 1989. The Beacon said the Acacia was expected to move to Charlevoix in May.
