He was a great friend of my dad's. He had a horse (and) cutter, so he'd come into the shop and my dad would shoe the horse for him... He'd come up and come in and eat dinner... He made (his own medicines). And the devil alone wouldn't drink it ! It was pure salt. I don't know how he made it, but he'd make a bottle for my dad when the kid"
