Beebe (1871-1945). Beebe was a turn-of-the-century northern Michigan portrait and landscape photographer who captured a number of Beaver Island scenes which later became postcards. The photo was taken near today's Bud McDonough Memorial Ball Park, in front of what was then a saloon and is now a private home - a building Beebe also photographed at the time. A broad grassy foreground contains a pale gravel road curving along the shoreline. Several people stand beside the road and near the water, while two large sailing vessels and smaller boats are visible offshore. Trees and scattered buildings line the far shore.
