A scanned three-panel brochure has white panels with pale pink borders and red headings and body text. The left panel includes a photograph of a glowing emergency light, while the right panel includes a blue Star of Life symbol. The page is dominated by text about emergency medical services, ambulance service, advanced life support, and a millage proposal.
A model wrote this. It was shown the image and the catalogue record together, and asked to keep them apart — what it saw is here, what the record told it is under "taken from the record" below. It is still wrong often enough to matter, about who is pictured, where, when, and what is happening. Read it as a way to find the image, never as evidence about it. If you can correct it, please do: write to michael.bommarito@gmail.com, or see how corrections work. Someone who recognises a face or a shoreline knows more than the model did.

The Bottom Line St. James Township voters will go to the polls in November not to decide how BIEMS will be organized going forward, nor to vote on whether or not we need Advanced Life Support service on Beaver Island—they will decide whether we will continue to have ANY ambulance service on Beaver Island. Without the proposed additional funding for paramedic staffing, ALS certification will be lost, and with it local air ambulance service and about half of the entire BIEMS budget. Make no mistake: a “No” vote on the proposed millage will not result in the continuation of EMS the way it has always been—it will instead make it impossible to continue to provide ALS services, while at the same time stripping away much of the funding that makes providing even Basic Life Support possible on Beaver Island, leaving us with NO AMBULANCE SERVICE AT ALL What will a yes vote do? A yes vote will match Peaine Township’s commitment to fund BIEMS at a level that will support the paramedic staffing required to maintain ALS service on the island, including critical island-based air ambulance evacuation. The BIESA has stated repeatedly that they do not believe the full 3 mills will need to be levied and that they anticipate reducing the levy in any event after BIEMS builds some cash reserves—and a review of proposed budgets confirms this analysis. A yes vote will not determine how BIEMS will be managed. It is not a vote for or against the Health Center. It is a vote to keep emergency medical services so an ambulance responds when you dial 911. Prepared in support of Beaver Island EMS by the Beaver Island Association P. O. Box 390 Beaver Island, MI 49782 www.beaverislandassociation.org The information in this brochure was gathered in part from members of the board of the Beaver Island Emergency Services Authority, but neither the BIEAS or Beaver Island Emergency Services has approved or provided any funds for its publication. Published by the Beaver Island Association. EMS Millage Proposal: Facts & Figures Prepared in support of Beaver Island EMS by the Beaver Island Association • Advanced Life Support saves lives • Passing the millage is necessary to keep ALS • BIEMS cannot operate without ALS air ambulance revenues • If the millage fails—EMS will shut down

Why this archive publishes it. Beaver Beacon site and photo gallery. The gallery's notice conditions COMMERCIAL use on written permission and says nothing about any other use; this archive is non-commercial, so that condition is met. Credit and a link to the photo's own gallery page accompany every item. The gallery is also no longer maintained — its newest upload is dated 2019-05-26 and the site footer stops at 2010 — which is the case for preserving it rather than an argument that its terms lapsed. Removal on request, from the Beacon or from any photographer.
Material goes off the web without anyone deciding that it should: a host lapses, a gallery is retired, a link stops resolving. Holding a copy — with its provenance, its checksum and its holder's terms recorded beside it — is much of why this archive exists. If you are looking for something whose original has since gone, write to michael.bommarito@gmail.com and a full-size copy of what is held here will be sent to you.
Recorded verbatim from the provenance sidecar taken at retrieval — this archive does not restate a holder's terms in its own words, does not add a restriction the holder did not state, and does not abridge one.

The archive holds its own copy of that file and will supply it on request; it is not re-served here, because the holder serves it better and a second copy is a second thing to go stale.
