Summary

Emil Pischner (1909–1958) was identified in the June 1945 feature as the engineer-cook on the conservation patrol. A November 1958 Beaver Beacon death notice identifies him as a Beaver Island native, reports that he joined the Michigan Conservation Department law-enforcement division in 1930, and says he had recently been engineer of the Charlevoix-based patrol boat.12

Evidence and limits

The local death notice supplies only Pischner’s birth year, not a full date. The meal description is retained as the feature writer’s account, not as a quantified fishing or food record.
