Summary

Restoration work at Beaver Head Lighthouse and its fog-signal station advanced toward a June 2003 construction start. The June Beacon lists accepted trade bids and reports approvals from the Michigan DEQ and State Historic Preservation Office, with National Park Service approval still expected. The July issue says the south-end lighthouse and fog-signal buildings would be renovated during the summer and warns of temporary access restrictions.

Evidence limits

The report documents procurement and planned work, not completion, final costs, or the ultimate reopening date.
