The November 2008 Beacon reported 468 presidential votes on Beaver Island, with Barack Obama receiving 274 to John McCain’s 194. Jean Palmer retained the St. James Clerk seat as a write-in, and Jack Gallagher defeated John Works Jr. for Peaine supervisor; the issue also lists other township and ballot question results.
