A December 2011 letter from the Beaver Island Airport Commission reports that Michigan Aeronautics formally approved the transfer of land-acquisition funds on November 16. The letter describes an approximately $30,000 local match split between St. James and Peaine Townships and says the acquisition phase was then behind the commission.

Evidence limits

The letter does not identify the acquired parcels or record a deed, closing instrument, or final terminal-construction decision.

Peaine Township Supervisor Jack Gallagher reports the Circuit Court jury verdict, the competing 20-acre and 150-acre claims, the $693,000 valuation adopted by the jury, the $191,000 already paid, and the risk that acquisition funding could defer other airport investments. This is a first-party public explanation, not the judgment itself.
