The December 2011 Beaver Beacon reports Little Traverse Conservancy work at Barney’s Lake Preserve during September through November. The work included a parking area, trail loop and connectors, trail maps and boundary signs, boat storage racks, and fencing intended to control vehicle access while retaining emergency access.
Evidence limits
The report describes completed and planned stewardship work but does not provide surveyed boundaries, construction contracts, or a later condition assessment.

- The Beacon reports 1.75 miles of new and improved trails — does a later Conservancy survey or map confirm this figure?
- Was the May 1, 2012 request that boaters use the new storage racks observed, or did informal shoreline boat storage continue at the preserve?
