Summary
On September 23–24, 2013, Little Traverse Conservancy staff and ten island volunteers constructed a three-quarter-mile trail linking Barney’s Lake Road with the Kuebler Trail through the Scully Addition to Barney’s Lake Preserve. The work also added a naturally surfaced four-car parking area, trail maps, bench-cut sections, and blue blazes. The issue describes the preserve as 285 acres after the addition.
Evidence limits
The source documents the completed trail segment and associated improvements. It describes possible future trail segments as proposals, not completed work.
Open questions
- Were the additional trail segments described as proposals in the October 2013 account ever built?
- The preserve is described here as 285 acres after the Scully Addition — does this match the Conservancy’s current published acreage for Barney’s Lake Preserve?
If you can answer any of these, or correct anything above, the archive wants to hear it — see Corrections.
