Douglas Edgar’s Beaver Fuel describes an August 8, 2011 trip from Beaver Island to Manistique aboard Bud Martin’s tug Shamrock, towing the barge Tanker II. The barge was loaded with non-ethanol gasoline and diesel, then returned to Beaver Island for transfer into trucks and local fuel tanks. The account says such runs were made as needed, weather permitting, from April through December.
