Summary
The April 1957 Beaver Beacon announced that Beaver Lodge would open April 15, with island resident Grace Cole as manager for owner Mrs. H. B. Johnston of Ludington. In May, the paper reported that Dr. Ludwick and his son Dr. John of Jackson had purchased the lodge and planned a May 26 afternoon open house, with Cole still managing. The July issue added that the community had enjoyed the Ludwicks’ grand opening and praised their work.
