Summary

Charlevoix voters approved a $3.5 million Downtown Development Authority project for Bridge Park, including improved ferry, dock, terminal, parking, and Coast Guard facilities serving the Beaver Island connection. The July 1997 Beacon reports the completed project’s dedication as a $5 million-plus development and says Bridge Park provided a permanent base for the Beaver Island Boat Company and the Coast Guard. Bill McDonough said the new ferry was expected in Charlevoix in the fall.

Evidence limits

The Beacon describes the vote and planned work; it is not a bond record, construction completion report, or independent election canvass.
