Summary
The July 2003 Beaver Beacon described Charlie Martin’s famous 1928 Model A, which had been converted from a four-door car into a truck and fitted with skis to carry mail over the winter ice. After years of disuse, Charlie’s son Mike loaded the vehicle onto a trailer and took it off the Island for restoration, promising to return it running and keep it on Beaver Island.
