Summary

The June 1957 Beaver Beacon framed Beaver Island Civic Association membership as support for the Medical Center, continued telephone service, unpaid civic committees, the Beacon and public-service bulletins, health services, utilities, education, and civic advancement. It listed dues of $2 for single members and $3 for married couples. The November issue solicited 1958 renewals and listed new members, while also reporting a Sand Bay log-cabin project and a cottage change of ownership. The Christmas issue states that memberships expired December 31 and publishes the 1958 renewal fees, including the business-membership Tourist Guide advertisement. The December 1958 issue repeats the expiration date and fee schedule for the following renewal cycle. The February 1959 issue lists new members and repeats the monthly-Beacon membership notice.

Evidence and limits

This is a membership and public-service appeal, not a membership roll, receipt ledger, budget, property instrument, construction record, Tourist Guide copy, or outcome assessment for the services described.
