In August 2016, the Charlevoix County Commission on Aging presented a revised draft of a Beaver Island Senior In-Home Services Reimbursement Program after community feedback. On August 31, the COA announced that Beaver Island seniors age 60 and older could enroll and request an eligibility packet. The COA used its September 25 fall dinner at the Community Center to explain the program publicly, including the advertised benefit of up to $80 per month per household.
