Summary

Beaver Island dedicated the Emerald Isle at the Beaver Island Boat Company dock on May 23, 1998. The Beacon estimated 650–800 attendees and described Mary “Bert” McDonough’s formal home-port christening, a broad public-private guest list, and the new dock’s intended passenger, freight, vehicle, and fuel services.

The July issue preserves Josephine and Eugene Bonadeo’s public thanks for the successful christening day.

This is a newspaper event report, not a passenger manifest, dock-completion certificate, vessel inspection, or complete ceremony transcript.
