Summary

On February 26, 1998, Beaver Island Fire Department, EMS, school first responders, Public Safety, and supporting agencies staged a mock school explosion and mass-casualty exercise. The drill tested rescue, triage, communications, road control, simulated air evacuation, and treatment at the Rural Health Center, while identifying the island’s transport delay as a critical emergency-planning problem.

Evidence limits

This is an exercise report, not a real explosion, patient record, or evidence that every requested outside agency actually deployed personnel or aircraft.
