Pat Rowley’s November 2011 Beacon essay describes a 1946 Taylorcraft and a 1974 Lake amphibious float plane leaving the family’s Beaver Island hangar. It recalls decades of flying, Alaska and Canada trips, fishing memories, and the aircraft’s new owners, who planned to rebuild the Taylorcraft and bring it to Winterfest for rides.

Evidence limits

This is a first-person feature and memory account; it does not establish sale dates, prices, or a complete aircraft provenance record.
