Summary

Joe Moore’s letter argued that Beaver Island should retain Advanced Life Support. It said BIEMS paramedics provided ALS and that care begun at BIRHC could continue during transport. Moore cited the letter’s figures that 82% of annual ambulance transports required ALS because of patient condition, that the service affected more than thirty people each year, and that it was called on at least 90 times annually.

Evidence limits

This is an advocacy letter and its figures are source-reported. It contains no patient names and does not establish a complete run log, clinical outcome, budget, licensing file, or independent utilization study. The examples of patients in the letter remain unnamed.
