Summary
Beaver Island EMS announced an advanced life-support upgrade beginning July 6, 2000. Five volunteers completed an intensive program involving 350 classroom hours and additional hospital and advanced-ambulance clinical experience. The new capabilities included advanced cardiac and respiratory care, diabetic emergencies, medication, pain control, and transmission of twelve-lead ECGs to participating hospitals.
