Summary

The January 1968 Beaver Beacon reported that Ernie Martin was wounded in Vietnam on December 28, 1967. His leg was injured, he underwent surgery in Japan, and his parents received a Purple Heart on his behalf. The February issue reported that he returned home on a 30-day leave before continuing recovery at Valley Forge General Hospital. In March, the Beacon printed his thanks to friends who had sent cards, letters, prayers, and packages and gave his new hospital address.
