Summary
The October 1957 Beaver Beacon reported Sunday field trips for junior groups, sponsored by Donald Cole and Father Joseph. Destinations included the old hotel site south of Nomad, the Beaver Dams of Cobble Creek, Mount Pisgah for eagle watching, and Dr. Protar’s spring below Bonner’s Bluff; Readings and French Bay were planned for later trips. The November issue said six Trail Blazer excursions had already taken place, including routes along the old railroad bed, the west shore of Font Lake, and from Fox Lake to the second lookout tower, and named the participating young people.
