Summary

The September 1972 Beaver Beacon said high winds and rough water had limited lake fishing and had sometimes kept the Beaver Islander tied to the dock. It described the rabbit supply as especially abundant and said heavy foliage made “Pat” hunting difficult. The October–November issue reported a 6 lb. 13 oz. steelhead from Lake Geneserath, two bow-and-arrow deer, and woodcock and partridge activity, while noting that geese were moving over the Island in high winds.

Evidence and limits

The report is a seasonal newspaper observation. It does not identify the species meant by “Pat,” provide catch or population totals, or supply a vessel, weather, or wildlife-management log.
