Program

The published June 1992 schedule set a WWII Tribute and wreath-laying at Beaver Island Community School for 10:30 am, a parade at 11:30 am (line-up at 11:00), a carnival at the harbor area at 1:00 pm, Coast Guard helicopter tours at Welke Airport from 1:00 to 4:00 pm, an evening concert featuring a “Fiddlin’ with the Roof” raffle drawing, and fireworks at dusk; the street was to close from 11:15 am to 3:15 pm. The Chamber of Commerce thanked “organizers, committees, judges, volunteers, marchers, dancers, bikers, flyers, floaters, and boaters.”

Evidence limits

The July report is a short post-event summary rather than a full program account; it does not give a complete list of float category winners (as 1991 and other years do) or state the raffle’s final proceeds. No source held here records whether the Chamber’s later carnival request for a different site was resolved before 1992’s event or only after.
