Summary
The Beaver Island Association organized a September 22, 2015 open house at the Community Center to introduce the Island Institute and explore collaboration between Beaver Island, Michigan, and comparable Maine island communities. A follow-up participant described the meeting as well attended and said that ideas had emerged for continued work.
WVBI later rebroadcast a recording of the meeting and identified the program as including the Michigan Office of the Great Lakes director. A participant described the Community Center as packed and the discussion as producing key issues for a year-long project.
