Summary

Jeff Cashman designed and built a 12-foot double-stepped tunnel-hull “cat” over three months spread across two summers. The September 1996 Beaver Beacon describes his CAD design, wooden plug, rubber-and-fiberglass mold, and 35-horsepower outboard; the boat was clocked at 36.7 mph on GPS, with further testing planned.

Evidence limits

This is a newspaper profile of a prototype and its reported test result, not a boat registration, engineering certification, or complete test log.
