The Beacon reports that the deteriorated John McCauley house on King’s Highway east of Round Lake, known locally as Kaitchlin’s, was demolished after Mike Martin concluded that restoration was impractical. On September 15 Rich Gillespie used a loader to bring down the structure while about twenty-five people watched; the resulting plaster dust temporarily curtailed air traffic overhead.
