Summary
The July 1968 Beaver Beacon reported that Steven Connaghan was regularly reaching his bass limit with a drop line from Beaver Haven Dock. Don Cole also reported increasing numbers of lake trout in his pound nets at the north end of Beaver Island. A postscript corrected the article’s OCR-visible first-name error, “Tony,” to Steven.
Evidence and limits
These are local observations. They do not provide a complete catch log, effort measure, or fisheries survey.
