Summary

The June 1964 Beaver Beacon printed Conservation Officer Bill Wagner’s June weather analysis, reporting a high of 78 degrees on June 7, a low of 30 on June 8, 6.07 inches of rain, and 3.17 inches falling before noon on June 22, when the paper also reported wind and lightning damage. The July issue printed a second June summary with an 85-degree high on June 30, a 32-degree low on June 2, a 70-degree average, and 1.45 inches of rain.

Evidence and limits

These figures are preserved as two conflicting newspaper reports, not merged into a single weather series. Neither issue identifies an instrument, observation site, or official weather-station series, and neither documents the reported damage separately.

  1. Reports a June high of 78 degrees on June 7, a low of 30 on June 8, 6.07 inches of total rain, 3.17 inches falling before noon on June 22, and wind and lightning damage on that date; it is a local newspaper report rather than an official weather-station dataset.

  2. The held five-page issue scan is paired with the OCR source and confirms the published notice or report; it does not expand the source-specific identity, event, or outcome claims.
