Summary

The November 2002 Beacon retells the 1859 Seul Choix Point confrontation in which Gus Pond shot Isaac Blanchard while defending his home and net shed. It follows Pond’s arrest and conviction, the 1860 Michigan Supreme Court decision that ordered his release, and Dennis Cull’s subsequent move to Beaver Island.
