Summary

The July 1996 Beaver Beacon described May as a transition into spring, with temperatures from 29 to 79 degrees, a first-half daily average of 51 degrees, a second-half average of 70 degrees, and about three inches of rain. Its water column placed Lake Michigan four inches above the long-term monthly average and expected another three inches of rise in June; it also projected the lake to remain six inches above November 1995’s level in November.
