Summary
In late summer and autumn 2006, Beaver Island forum participants revisited the Michigan State Police presence during Homecoming. Some residents described the seasonal enforcement as excessive and harmful to the event, while Joe Moore, writing from his experience as an auxiliary county officer, said additional law-enforcement support followed repeated disorder and an overburdened local deputy. The discussion did not resolve the competing accounts.
