In March 2012, the Beaver Island Chamber of Commerce announced that Beaver Island appeared on the cover of the Michigan Travel Guide associated with Midwest Living and Pure Michigan. The Chamber said the guide carried a shorter version of a feature published in the July/August 2011 issue of Midwest Living and linked the state travel-guide page.
