Summary
In April 2019, Elaine and Steve West announced that they would transfer the NorthernIslander to Cynthia Johnson, who was expected to become owner, editor, and publisher on July 1. The announcement said the Wests would work with her during the transition and that the paper’s contact information would remain unchanged.
Evidence limits
The announcement is reproduced in a forum post from the April issue and is strong evidence of the publicly announced transition. It is not, by itself, a legal ownership record or proof that the transfer occurred exactly as planned.

- The forum reproduces the announcement published in the April NorthernIslander: after nearly 20 years, Elaine and Steve West planned to transfer ownership, editing, and publishing to Cynthia Johnson on July 1, while working together during the transition. The forum copy supports the announcement and stated timetable, but the newspaper issue or business records should control the legal ownership history.forum · www.beaverislandforum.com · 14 · t014003
