Summary
At the start of the 1988–89 school year, BICS reported 62 students and nine pre-kindergarten students. On September 16–17 it hosted the new Northern Lights League gathering, a small-school conference involving Beaver Island, Harbor Light Christian, Grand Marais, Paradise, and Mackinac Island.
