Summary
The December 2002 Beacon’s “On This Date” column revisited December issues from 1962 through 1992. It covered school construction and contracting, deer management and hunting, the disappearance of two aircraft, the Island power cable failure, formation of the Volunteer Fire Department, CPR training, the opening of the Island’s first bank branch, and a Coast Guard evacuation after a hunting accident.
