Summary

The April 2009 Beacon reprinted April 1909 reports about mail arriving on the ice, the steamer Beaver making its first trip, trout-season dates, inspections of the Beaver, Knobloch, and McCann, fish stocking, and travel between Beaver Island and Charlevoix. F. Protar diary notes added thunderstorms, snow, and other weather context.

Evidence limits

This is a 2009 reprint of older newspaper and diary material. It does not independently verify the historical notices or transcription against archival originals.
